The Maloof international skateboarding contest starts today in Kimberly, South Africa. South Africans are a resilient bunch and despite Kimberly being straight up in the middle of nowhere, hoards of skateboarders and fans are making their way their and for this weekend SKATEBOARDING will rule that town !! For those of you keen to take a look at what goes down there are a couple ways of doing this .. First off keep it locked to the MALOOF MONEY CUP youtube channel HERE and also follow REPROBAIT who will be covering the event in proper style. Word is the town has allowed 24 hour alcohol sales and this plus thousands of skateboarders in one place = ANARCHY !!! enjoy.

Skateboarding in its essence is raw and can never be held in one place for too long – In South Africa its just straight awesome when you see new concepts and new energy pushing forward. Enter KROWNED game of skate, the brainchild of Rhulane Shiburi. This event was not some promotion aimed at selling more product but simply an event put together by skateboarders to get together hang out and have a good time .. This is what good times are all about, may they have many more .

Tons of cool stuff in this edition of AV … seriously !!! Everytime AV drops I feel like a kid at Christmas Something really worth looking at is the newly formed ADIDAS SB South Africa team headed up by Pieter Retief who went out to MOZAMBIQUE to do a tour in pure Africa style .. looking forward to that. So when they drop a premiere launch date .. only one thing to do … BE THERE !!!
